Botox 5 weeks after Rhinoplasty

Question

Hello, I had a rhino, septo, turb reduction 5 weeks agi. I had significant swelling and bruising. Healing slower at my age of 44. Did alot of damage under eyes with wrinkling. Can I safely get botox this soon after the surgery. I do still have some minor swelling on sides of nose and forehead between eyes. Thank you.

Botox treatment 5 weeks after rhinoplasty should be no problem. I would still advise that you follow-up with your surgeon and ask for her or his input on this. Good luck

It should be fine to get Botox injections five weeks after rhinoplasty. However, you should clear this with your rhinoplasty surgeon, assuming he/she is not the doctor who will be injecting the Botox.  That being said, it is unlikely that Botox will help to alleviate swelling related to your recent rhinoplasty.  Also, I would suggest being very cautious about using it to reduce wrinkles under your eyes.

There won't be any jeopardy to the rhinoplasty with the use of Botox five weeks after the operation. However I would be reluctant to inject into an area that swollen simply because it's a waste Of product.

5 weeks is generally enough time to have Botox after a nose procedure.  That being said, since your recovery is reportedly longer by your description, caution is the better part of valor.

At 5 weeks postop, you shouldn't have any problems getting botox to regions of face that include the forehead, glabella, and crows feet. I would discuss this with your rhinoplasty surgeon before proceeding to make sure that it is appropriate for you to get botox at this time.

Dear Trishlynn, Typically speaking five weeks post surgery is fine for Botox injections. If you are going to a surgeon other then your rhinoplasty surgeon for the Botox make sure that you let them know you are five weeks post surgery.
