I had a BBL 10 days ago. My pubic mound and my lower abdomen are huge. Will this go away soon? (Photo)

Thank you for your question. 10 days is still very early in the healing process. Swelling is completely normal at this point and it will continue to go down over the next three months. It is normal for the pubic area to be swollen as well, this is very common. Continue to stay hydrated and wearing your compression garment as this helps with swelling. Give yourself time and be patient during your recovery. Be sure to continue to follow up with your surgeon. Good luck during your recovery! 

Thank you for your question. Swelling in the first week after surgery is quite common. There is a process of swelling and bruising that peaks at 3 days after surgery and then undergoes the first stage of major resolution in the first 2 weeks after surgery.  The lateer phase of healing takes place over the 2-3 months after surgery where everything really settles and softens.  It is after this time that we are getting close to the final result, though this varies patient to patient.  It's best to follow your surgeons specific advice post-operatively. We typically have our patients wear compression garments on the areas we did liposuction to help the skin and underlying tissues re-adhere as well as reduce swelling.

Thank you for your question, 10 days is early in the healing phase it is completely normal to be swollen it will take a few weeks for it to subside, continue to wear your compression garment and follow up with your PS.

Dear n9534465,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a BBL surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process at 10 days  post op.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively.At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Thank you so much for sharing your question and pictures. Swelling the first weeks after surgery is normal. It takes 3 to 6 months to see the final results. I suggest you discuss this information with your surgeon for more details.
