The cost depends greatly upon the location, surgeon and type of implant. Another factor that will be important is whether you have significant underlying asymmetry of your chin. Creating a custom chin implant that remedies significant asymmetry can increase cost. A reasonable range is $7500 - $20,000 for the custom implant, surgeon fee, anesthesia and facility. A significant contributor to the high cost is the custom implant. This would be a good procedure to discuss with several plastic surgeons to ensure they have experience with the custom implant that will work best for you. I hope this information is helpful.Stephen Weber MD, FACS
Cost factors vary significantly for a number of good reasons: Prices vary greatly because the surgery itself encompasses a wide range of techniques that can be performed to different extents. My recommendation is to first find the most qualified surgeons where you want the surgery performed that are board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery you trust, then compare prices between them. See the below link on suggestions on how to find the most qualified plastic surgeon for your procedure. General Factors that influence the price of plastic surgery include: 1. Location - Will it be performed in a hospital with an overnight stay, an independent out- patient facility or a doctor’s office? Geographical location also has a significant influence. RealSelf has average charges for most areas of the USA. 2. Type of Anesthesia - local, IV sedation or General Anesthesia? Will a board certified anesthesiologist, nurse anesthetist, or an RN be used? 3. Experience and training of your surgeon. The best and longest trained is most often a plastic surgeon board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery 4. Length and Complexity of Surgery - how difficult will your surgery be and how long it will take, etc. Will other complementary procedures also be also performed during the same surgery?
There are a variety of factors that contribute to the cost of a chin implant, however you can expect it to be around $7000-$9000 in Toronto, Ontario.
The creation of a custom chin implant is done by hand off of a 3-D model created from the patient's CT scan. Having done this on a regular basis, the costs associated with entire process are well known. Short of the cost of getting a 3-D CT scan in your geographic area (usually less than $500), complete surgical costs would be right around $8500 to $9000 which includes implant fabrication and sterilization, surgeon's fees, operating and anesthesia fees.
To customize a chin implant, you will need a 3D CT scan of the mandible and face. This is then reconstructed on a 3D CAD machine which, if the company ha will be able to make you your custome chin. Cost I quess $ 50-100K
