NEVER use neosporin on your skin after laser. you need growth factors, peptides, healing balms, and masks (see link to my full protocol for non ablative laser skincare + red light). Best, Dr. emer.
In general, I would recommend following the instructions of the particular physician who performed your laser procedure. Each physician may have different ointments that they prefer their patients to use after a laser treatment. I prefer that my patients use aquaphor ointment, and I normally apply this to the treated area immediately after the procedure. It is best to keep the area from drying out, so frequent ointment application is helpful. You can definitely apply ointment the day after the laser treatment.
Neosporin would definitely not be my first choice to apply post resurfacing with something as aggressive as CO2. We apply Aquaphor or Cicalfate after cooling the skin, and send the patients home with a comprehensive skin care kit with a cleanser, ointment, and sunscreen. I would recommend calling your provider who did the procedure and discuss proper post-care with them. Good luck!
I would recommend scheduling a formal consultation with a cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon in order to get a customized treatment plan for your case. Best, Dr. Emer.
Fractional CO2 laser is an excellent tool for skin rejuvenation in our center in Santa Monica. We use the fractional multi-depth ablative approach to help resurface the skin, recontour acne scars, improve incisional plastic surgery scars, and reduce surface irregularities from skin tone to dark...
You need to post photos and get a formal consultation. co2 can be used all over for various things but Is quite dangeous if you do not know what you are doing. co2 should be performed for antiaging every 1-2 years and for scarring much more frequently. Best, Dr. Emer.
