Based on your picture, it looks like more or less typical bruising from that procedure. Keep close follow-up with your surgeon to guide you through the process.Good luck and take care,Dr. Howell
Thank you for your picture. This looks most consistent with bruising. This should resolve itself in 7 to 10 days. If this is not resolving to your satisfaction please make sure you visit this with your plastic surgeon
You look like you have bruising and swelling post treatment and should be evaluated for a seroma or hematoma. My patients are not typically that swollen or bruised. Best, Dr. Emer.
This appears to to be a bruise that has settled in your first neck crease. However, it needs to be followed closely by your treating doctor to check for progress. The skin is tighter in these transverse creases and frequently holds bruising in a line this way.
A burn from laser lipo will usually show up as a blister within minutes to hours of the procedure. Ischemia or pressure necrosis secondary to a compression garment that is too tight can also feel and look very similar. A bruise will usually lighten in color as time goes on, while a laser burn usually darkens, eventually turning black. If yours is improving, bruising is the likely culprit. Take care with your compression and seek your surgeon's opinion.
While the photos are not perfectly clear, it looks more like a bruise that is common after liposuction that often settles at the lower end of the area treated in the more dependent areas.
Since the posted photos are very difficult to determine if bruise vs burn effect. And based upon recent email from a treating doctor for this patient, the therapy should be for observation to allow this bruising to resolve. Frequent follow up is recommended.
Thank you for your question. Based on the pictures it look like bruise and at the lower crease. Pl discuss this with your Physician and checked.
Hi Malabella,By the pictures this looks more like bruising that has settle on the bottom area of the flap and definitely not a burn. It is also not a bruise form the garment. Only normal brusing. I do not see any evidence of burn in the pictures. If you have questions please call the office of your physician and schedule a follow up. You need to notify them so that someone looks at it in person and schedule a follow up. They will be more than happy to see you. With pictures is very difficult sometimes to make adequate assessments of problems.Hope this helps,Dr. Gus Diaz
From your photos, the rope-like area appears to be a bruise. It would be hightly unlikely that SmartLipo would burn in a wide linear pattern such as this one suggests. Bruising after liposuction is common and resolves in a few weeks leaving no scars.

While swelling from Smartlipo tends to subside after several weeks, this isn’t the case for every patient. I would recommend giving your face some more time to recover before judging your results too harshly. Some lipo treatment may even need upwards of a month or two before noticeable results b...
Smart lipo is a three step process which begins with the administration of a numbing medicine (tumescent anesthesia) directly into the area being treated, follows with treatment of the fat with the Smart lipo laser, and finishes with extraction of the lasered fat and underlying fat with standard...
