When will I see results on my chin after smart lipo?

While swelling from Smartlipo tends to subside
after several weeks, this isn’t the case for every patient. I would recommend
giving your face some more time to recover before judging your results too
harshly. Some lipo treatment may even need upwards of a month or two before
noticeable results become visible. In the meantime, I suggest wearing your
compression garment as your surgeon directed, and perhaps try icing your treatment
area to help bring the swelling down. If your results aren’t visible within a
month or two, speak with your surgeon to see if additional treatments may be
necessary.

the results should be evident immediately.  I am not sure what technique was used but the laser followed by hand/power aspiration shows results right away even with swelling.  In my practice compression is only worn for 3 days and then we follow with venus legacy treatments.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Thanks for your post. Smartlipo of the chin/neck area can take an extended time to recover. Prolonged swelling is the norm. Don't worry. The time frame should really be around 3 months before you are approaching a final result, and even beyond that. Best wishes.

By 3 weeks you should be enjoying some difference on your neck size. .. however in the absence of a photo, I would agree with some of the comments below. Typically the result is very evident even one day after the surgery. The only exception I have ever seen in my practice is when the neck is extremely heavy and the amount of fat that needed to be removed to see any change was fairly substantial. (I am talking in the range of more than 75 or 100 ccs of fat removal. If this is your situation, significant swelling can obscure the final resesult for a long time (several weeks) before much of a change is evident. My suggestions are as follows: Sleep with your head, neck and back elevated with at least 4-5 pillows, or else sleep in a recliner until further notice. Secondly try to wear the compresion band more faithfully, I mean to say continuosly, but much looser, so you are not getting headaches. You may even be contributing to the swelling by wearing a tight garment in that location.My third suggestion is to call your surgeon and arrange a meeting right away to get some clarification about your status from him/her. There are many additional ancillary treatments that can reduce swelling and make you feel more comfortable about the outcome and about what you are, and are not seeing.

sometimes you can be lucky and see a change early on. however, i tell all of my patients, it is not uncommon to need to wait 2 months before you start to notice changes. You will continue to improve for 6 months after the procedure. you need a different mind set than with a breast augmentation, when the change is immediate.hang in there and you will probably be pleased with the results in a few more months.david berman md

You should certainly see some positive results by 3 weeks. Make sure your garment is properly fitted and review your concerns with your surgeon.Aloha,Dr. Crabtree
