I had a fat transfer 4 weeks ago from my thighs to my hips. I would like to get Coolsculpting done on my stomach and love handles. Do I have to wait a certain amount of time before getting the Coolsculpting even tough it is not on the same areas where I had liposuction?
Answer: Coolsculpting after fat transfer Hello, there is no problem with having Coolsculpting to a different area. However, you might want to hold off on doing that because if the transferred fat does not all stay or you need a touch up to your fat transfer, you will need to get some fat to do it. The fat in an area that had recently or even remotely been Coolsculpted tends to be fibrous not not very viable for transfer.

Answer: Coolsculpting after surgery You can do Coolsculpting to your abdomen and love handles and not worry about effecting your surgery. Coolsculpting only effects the fat cells in the immediate area of treatment and not in the surrounding tissue. Coolsculpting won't effect your healing or recovery from surgery in any way. If the area you had the fat transferred to is very close, adjacent or touching your love handles you want treated, I would suggest waiting until any swelling has resolved to insure good results and a nicely sculpted appearance in the end. Your provider needs to make an accurate assessment of where to place the applicators and that may not be clear if you have swelling. Best of luck!

Answer: CoolSculpting After a Fat Transfer Good question! CoolSculpting is a great, non-surgical solution to frustrating bulges of fat. CoolSculpting is also commonly applied to the abdomen and flanks to slim down and contour the body. I think this technique may help to improve upon your fat transfer and further contour your body. However, you should hold off on CoolSculpting for a little while. Contact the physician who performed the fat transfer and ask them when an optimal time would be to pursue CoolSculpting. Now may not be a good time because the transferred fat is still adjusting to the new area and since the CoolSculpting treatment would occur close by, it may impact your results. Best to reach out to your cosmetic surgeon and wait a bit.

Answer: Coolsculpting and Fat transfer Coolsculpting is a fabulous procedure and you can have the Coolsculpting procedure done in a different area like the stomach. However, if it is the same area I would not do the procedure yet. Best, Dr. Green

Answer: Cool Sculpting As the proposed Cool Sculpting is near the area of fat transfer I would recommend you wait two months prior to having your Cool Sculpting sessions. By two months most of the swelling associated with the fat transfer would be resolved and you will be able to achieve a better result from your Cool Sculpting treatment.
