As a patient with MS what extra/ different treatment is given during and after surgery?

The discussion regarding the safety of your surgery should occur between you, the plastic surgeon and the neurologist.  Optimizing you condition prior to surgery and taking precautions after surgery should result in an excellent outcome with minimized risks of complications.

You will need to discuss this with your medical doctor, and obtain medical clearance before having any elective surgery. No plastic surgeon can prevent an exacerbation of MS, but your medical doctor might have some suggestions to minimize the risk. I have done surgery over the years on several patients with MS. Those who were well controlled did well.

Thank you for your question.  Before seeing a plastic surgeon, you should discuss this thoroughly with the doctor who treats your MS; he/she and your plastic surgeon can work together to try and avoid an exacerbation of your MS.  I would probably be somewhat conservative in my approach to make things as easy on you as possible.  With a 100 lb weight loss, I doubt that you have anything to liposuction, so, it would most likely be a thigh lift but I would not do it at the same time as the tummy tuck.  Hopefully, the weight loss was intentional and not due to your condition or something else which may preclude plastic surgery at this time.
