How long for the swelling to go down in mons area?

I'm 1 week post op I had full tummy tuck & lipo my mons area is so painful & it feels so hard when I touch it. It's so swollen how long is going to take to go back as normal size they did remove fat from there & lipo so I though it was going to look a lot better after surg but it looks worst

Thanks for this question.I think that a regular TT would be best for you based on these photos. The FDL TT is usually used for those people with more laxity in their central abdomen. It is a good operation but does have some added risks and of course a scar that you can't hide in a two piece...

Thank you for your question.  I think a gel zone wrap is perfectly fine to utilize.  Swelling is normal and can take three to four months to resolve.  I advise my patients to wear their binder when they exercise or if they are unusually active after the four week time frame....

Thank you for your question. You most likely have some thickened scar tissue or nerve irritation in that area. Conservative management such as massage and Kenalog injection usually resolves the matter. If it persists pass 1 year time frame, you may consider surgical excision of the scar tissue...

Dear Lsanne84,  Your swelling at 2 weeks is completely normal. Post-operative swelling can last many weeks to several months after a tummy tuck. Closely follow your surgeons instructions and you will begin to see your final results in no time at all. Good luck. Dr. Gervais
