Can smart Lipo be safe for me?

As long as these pre-existing conditions are under control, you should still be a candidate for surgery.  Seek out a board certified plastic surgeon in your area and discuss these concerns.  They may also wish to obtain input from your regular doctor.Best wishes

Diabetes is one of the contraindications for liposuction. It increases the risks of infection and poor healing. 
I can say though that in young very well controlled diabetics Smart Lipo can be done. There is a need for very tight follow up from the PCP and the doctor who performed the procedure.

Thank you for your question, you may qualify for SmartLipo even with your pre-existing conditions. However, your blood pressure and diabetes must be under control and monitored by your PCP. For more information, please make sure you get an in-person consultation.

Diabetes mellitus is not a contraindication to the performance of liposuction if you are under control. This will most likely require a preoperative evaluation by your internist or endocrinologist to determine if you are in optimal health to undergo the procedure. 
With good communication between surgeon and internist, the procedure can be performed and should be uneventful.
Consult with a board certified plastic surgeon.

since Smartlipo is done under local with oral sedation, you should be eating and taking your normal dose of insulin. You should also be taking your BP meds. As long as your blood pressure is controlled by your meds, and the same with your blood sugar, you should be fine. I would suggest that you get a good check up from your family dr and if you are fine, then it should not be a problem. see a board certified plastic surgeon with good experience in Smartlipo.david berman md
