What is the difference between Smart Lipo and Body Tite?

I was looking at getting Smart Lipo but after researching both of them it seems like the results for body tite seem to be a lot better and smoother. What’s the difference between these two procedures?

Smart Lipo is good for stubborn areas of fat, but lacks body contouring and shaping. For best results, I recommend a hi-definition procedure like VASER liposuction, which can be performed at the same time as a tummy tuck, if there is skin laxity. I use VASER HI-DEF with ThermiRF, Renuvion (J Plasma), InMode BodyTite, and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, contour and definition. This combination will give you the most toned result. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a hi-definition physique expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for your question, BodyTite does not remove fat, you are likely a great candidate for BodyTite if you are looking for a minimally invasive procedure that provides detailed improvements for a tighter, smoother and more youthful skin. SmartLipo is a minimally invasive and incredibly effective way to remove stubborn deposits of fat. Combining these two treatments will give you maximum results. I suggest an in-person consultation with a board-certified surgeon to discuss your options.

Thank you for your inquiry!    It depends upon what you are looking for.  Smart lipo is for liposuction. The fat is directly removed from the area.  The laser can help melt the fat and can help stimulate collagen production in the dermal layer of the skin to help with skin tightening.  If you are looking to remove fat, this will be better.  BodyTite is only a treatment for skin tightening. It is really not effective at removing fat.   You will need several treatments.   Will liposuction, you have one treatment only and after the full healing is accomplished you should notice significant differences. I hope this helps!

Bodytite uses radio frequency energy to heat up the skin in order to make it contract. Smartlipo uses a laser to make the liposuction process somewhat easier. The tools are completely different from one another. Good luck from New York City

Thank you for your question.  The two tools are very different.  Bodytite uses radiofrequency energy to tighten the skin.  This can be combined with liposuction to also remove the fat during the same procedure.  Smartlipo is a laser technology that is used to heat up and melt the fat, making the liposuction easier.  Smartlipo may bring some skin tightening results.  Discuss your goals with your surgeon to achieve the best results!

Smartlipo is used in our facility to enhance results of Liposuction alone. In other words, it is is Laser assisted lipolysis ( fat break down or fat melting) followed by Liposuction or aspiration of this melting butter type fat. If done well, it gets smoother less " lumpy" results ALWAYS compared to Liposuction alone. It results in less bruising. It rejuvenates skin and therefore improves the quality of skin and  results in a nice tuck up of skin that otherwise might have been just a bit loose in the lower abdomen after Liposuction ( 17% skin contraction).  We now use SmartLipo for Most Liposuction procedures... because who doesn't want the best possible result!
BodyTite is used in our facility to get the most skin tightening possible without having to cut away extra skin (38% skin contraction).  BodyTite is radio frequency assisted lipolysis ( fat break down or fat melting) when this is needed followed by Liposuction or aspiration of this oily fat. BodyTite is radio frequency assisted skin tightening alone when this is needed for those that have lost weight and have loose skin or have loose aging skin.
In summary:
If you mostly want Liposuction but worry that if you empty out the fat, you will have loose skin, then you can have SmartLipo for the best possible result without worrying.
If you have some loose skin already and do NOT want a surgical tummy tuck, thighplasty, brachhiplasty, then you can have BodyTite. Or if you have been told by another plastic surgeon that if you get liposuction without extra skin removal surgery, you will have loose skin then you should consider BodyTite. 
Or you can have SmartLipo to get to the general body contours that you love and then at a second stage address any excess skin with BodyTite skin tightening!

Smartlipo uses a fiberoptic laser internally in the subcutaneous fat to melt the fat which is then liposuctioned away. it is done in the office under local anesthesia usually with oral sedation. My patients return to work the next day. you also get some skin tightening. you will continue to improve for 6 months.Body-Tite uses radiofrequency and it is mostly used for skin tightening only.david berman md

While SMART lipo uses laser energy to soften fat, making it easier to suction, Bodytite uses radiofrequency energy. Both modalities will also tighten the skin through deep heating. 
The experience of the surgeon behind the instrument is more important than the type of instrument utilized. 
Search for an experienced board certified plastic surgeon.
