I have been doing Canthopexy for 35 years and have never had a patient have blurred vision.
That said, tightening the lower eyelid with a canthopexy can put slight pressure on the eyeball and cause temporary blurred vision theoretically-but I have never seen it...
The need for a canthopexy or canthoplasty can only be determined by your surgeon. If your surgeon is performing fat transposition only, and you have had a previous canthoplasty then your risk of lower eyelid retraction is extremely low. Obviously an in person examination to evaluate the tone...
HelloLateral canthoplasty is required as retraction surgery. Could you please add some photos? If you have cantonal webbing or rounding, it can be repaired.
