The heavy upper eyelid make you look sleepy. The heavy upper eyelid shadows the top of the cornea. That makes the eye look dull rather than jewel like. The heavy upper eyelid stimulates the forehead to elevate the eyebrows to help open the eyes. This lifts the soft tissue and fat that normally lives in the eyelid fold and softens the appearance of the brow bone. Correcting the upper eyelid ptosis will allow the eyebrows to relax down contributing to a more feminine appearance. Be advised there are two common upper eyelid ptosis surgeries. The first is called Mueller's muscle conjunctival resection and is the preferred approach by 80% or more of ptosis surgeons. It is often touted as scarless because the scar is make on the back surface of the upper eyelid. This surgery will not be right for you. It will under correct your ptosis and leave your eyebrows high. Instead, you are likely to need an anterior levator resection ptosis surgery. This is done through an upper eyelid skin incision. The incision becomes your new upper eyelid crease. That is desirable because you need your upper eyelid crease lowered. Also this is a stronger ptosis repair and it makes it much more likely that it will induce the forehead to relax down effectively softening the appearance of the eyebrows. There is no substitute for a detailed in person assessment. Your eyes can be your best feature.
