Vollure or Voluma for around mouth lines? (photos)

Question

Syringe of vollure for around the mouth or 1 more Syringe he of voluma to lift and eliminate around mouth lines??? My goal is to soften lines around mouth , derm said 1 syringe of vollure should do it and another said voluma would ... ive only had 1 of voluma 6 months ago... I'm worried about volume causibg swollen , chubby look around mouth.. also under eye recommend stations? I look old . Thanks!!

I recommend fillers to soften the nasolabial folds themselves and also lift around the mouth and cheeks to build underlying anatomical support. In our practice we combine Sculptra with other fillers "layered" on top and lasers, skin tightening treatments such as Thermage, Fractora, and Renuvion (J Plasma), thread lifting,  and peels to get the most conservative, natural look. Thank you for sharing your excellent question.  If your third photograph is your goal I would recommend both Voluma into your cheeks and Vollure into your smile lines.  The Voluma will help support and elevate your cheek tissues while the Vollure will help smooth the cheek lip junction.  Hope this helps.

Fillers are used to smooth out folds and wrinkles. Its application will help add volume and contour the face. There may be bruising and swelling for a few days as with all other fillers but this will subside. Consult with your doctor to know more.

Vollure is a great choice to inject around the mouth, namely the nasolabial and marionette lines.  As a cohesive filler, it has the ability to stretch in a mobile area like the mouth and then return to its original state at rest.  This means the filler creates a smooth appearance even during movement.  Using Vycross technology, it has less associated swelling.  Voluma delivers more lift and structure to areas like the cheeks and temples.  Using appropriate fillers in different areas can create overall facial harmony and a very natural result. Voluma is my preferred product for augmenting the cheeks and chin. Vollure is softer and thinner than Voluma, and will not provide the same level of structure and lift that Voluma does. So if your worried about the lower face being too full i would recommend Vollure best of luck!

Thank you for your question and photos.  Based on the photos you shared, I think you could benefit from another syringe of Voluma in your midface (along the cheek bone, rather than the apple of your cheek) and a syringe of Vollure in your smile lines. Voluma will provide more lift to support the lower face.  Vollure moves with your tissue as you smile, so it will improve your lines without over filling your face.Best wishes,Dr. Kavali

There are many great products for creating a beautiful result.  Juvederm products such as a Juvederm Voluma for cheek augmentation and Juvederm Vollure for nasolabial folds and marionette lines would be a great choice.
There are many great products for lip lines. Juvederm Volbella is the newest FDA approved filler for lip lines.  It does a great job at softening lip lines without the bulky or puffy appearance.  For restoring lip volume Juvederm Ultra or restylane would be good choices.

photographs srichards822. I understand your concern. Fillers are used to restore
lost volume in and enhance the appearance of the face. It is difficult to make an assessment without a
formal exam in the office where I can view the skin in multiple angles. However,
I hope the information provided here is useful.Voluma is a great product to restore lost volume in the mid face. It is placed in the upper cheeks and provides a lift to the lower face by pulling the skin upward. In this way it also addresses the nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and jowls. Vollure is a newer product and works well when placed directly into the nasolabial fold. For my patients I find that a combination of both products yields the best results. For my patients I recommend a conservative start with two syringes of either product, which provides a natural result. It is important to be patient and wait a full two weeks for final results. I find that often when Voluma is used in the cheeks an improvement is seen under the eyes. If further enhancement is desired, products such as Volbella can be used in the tear trough area.Please consult with a doctor for specific

Vollure is more appropriate around-the-mouth while Voluma is more appropriate for midface "lifting" along the cheek area.  A good way to think about it is whether you want to more directly treat the around-the-mouth lines with Vollure versus if you'd rather get a bit more lift of your cheek area while getting a more modest improvement of the around-the-mouth lines.If you are worried about a chubby look around your mouth, I would recommend doing additional Voluma along the cheeks.  This will give you nice, subtle volume enhancement of the cheek area while providing some improvement to the around-the-mouth lines.  For under eye recommendations, you may be a good candidate for a filler injection in the area.  The only 2 products I recommend using in this area is Restylane or Belotero.  A good, precise injection done in this area by an experienced injector (I recommend a facial plastic surgeon or plastic surgeon who specializes in the face) can give you a great result and improved contour of the under eye area.Best of luck!
