Fat transfer with May Thurner syndrome?

I wanted to get a small portion of fat removed from my thighs and get it injected in my face but have May Thurner syndrome Can I still do this and can I still get the fat from this area despite mild swelling in my left leg?

The amounts needed for facial fat grafting are miniscule, in the order of 15-40 cc.  So this should not be a problem.  However, if you are anticoagulated due to your condition, you need to stop this prior to the procedure.  You would need clearance from your vascular surgeon or correct the condition to optimize your perioperative management and avoid suffering a blood clot due to the procedure.

Facial fat transfer is usually done in local anesthesia. Taking fat from the thigh, abdomen or flanks should not compromise lower extremity swelling further. This should be discussed with a board certified plastic surgeon with expertise in facial fat grafting. Good luck.
