can the height or frontal view of the nostril be reduced and what are the different techniques called that can do this also this has to be without changing the width of the nostrils but can reduce the nostril size on the septum (inside) so the nose stays the same width but the nostrils get smaller. pictures used to illustrate point but not reduced exactly to that degree

The answer to your question lies in diagnosing the primary problem that is causing the increased nostril show. If the tip is over rotated, then derotating the tip will reduce nostril show. If the columella is hanging, then flattening the columella is the answer. If the top of the nostril is retracted or curved upward, then rim grafts will provide that improvement. Finally, some nostrils have excess flare, which causes increased show on front view. A nostril or alar base reduction will help to improve that. However, most nostril reduction procedures will also narrow the width slightly.
