How will a chin look AFTER an implant is removed? Will it look weird to go back? How long before you can go back to work?

I got an implant 3 years ago. I'm not happy with the way it looks. Will the chin and even more importantly the SMILE go back to the way it was before? I am 44. Would appreciate pictures of before and after removal if anyone has. Thanks!

I am sorry that you are not happy with your implant.  The tissues will shrink back on predictably.  Consider removal carefully.

Sorry to hear that your chin implant did not provide the look that you wanted.While removing the implant will reverse some of the correction, it will probably not go back to exactly the way it was before. Residual scar tissue typically persist, creating some residual augmentation.This can be a good thing if you loose the change in your smile that you did not like but keep some of the augmentation that you were wanting in the beginning.

The answer to your question depends on how big the implant was and how long it was in place.  Since it has been there for 3 years, the skin may be stretched a bit.  You may need to have a bit of skin tightened under your chin which can be done at the time of removal.  You may want to consider another small implant or some type of filler.  You can go back to work soon...but not really heavy lifting, etc.  Follow the directions of your doctor as to when to return to work and exercise.
