Is it normal to have tenderness/soreness after eating, 4 weeks after a chin implant?

I had a chin implant 4 weeks ago. When I eat solid food, there is one spot on the right edge of my face & neck (in other words, on the bone) that gets sore. I'm not talking about eating corn on the cob or anything hard, but a sandwich or a cookie, etc. A few days ago, the pain moved an inch closer to my chin, again on the edge. As of today, it's gone back to the original spot. For what it's worth, pain medication (one ibuprofen) gets rid of the pain.

In general, it is not abnormal to have some tenderness 4 weeks after having a chin implant. I would recommend contacting your surgeon with any specific concerns, as he/she knows the details of your procedure and will be able to advise you. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck.

It is not unusual to have some soreness 4 weeks after placement of a chin implant, but the soreness should be getting better over time.  It would be fine to take the ibuprofen, since that helps, but I would contact your surgeon if you feel the soreness is not improving.
