Hi yvonnecolmenares! CoolSculpting is a medical procedure. In the United States, a licensed MD must evaluate you, the patient, and determine if the procedure will properly treat you in a safe and efficacious manner. Each state is different in their licensing, laws and regulations regarding who must perform the procedure. Many if not most states provide for a technician to perform CoolSculpting when an prescription or documented order is written by the evaluating physician. Other states, such as Maryland, allow only RN's and MD's to perform the procedure. There is no doubt that the evaluation of your needs and the skill of the technician, RN or MD placing and adjusting the CoolSculpting appliance is paramount in its effectiveness. Depending on the amount of CoolSculpting and the desired end effects you wish for, you should consider the surgical alternative, liposuction of an entire region to obtain a more contoured result. In all cases, lifestyle modification including diet and exercise maybe required to obtain your best result. Consider a consulting opinion from a Board Certified, well experienced Plastic Surgeon. I wish you the best!
