I'm scheduled in 3 days for tummy tuck and everyone around me seems to have a cold I keep eating fruits n veg trying to make sure I don't catch it but if I sneeze or feel a tingle I get paranoid.

Answer: Abdominoplasty and recent or current illness Having a slight cold is usually not enough to warrant a postponement of elective surgery. But if you are feeling really sick (elevated temperature, malaise, productive cough, etc.), then you might want to consider waiting until you are feeling better. Discuss your specific symptoms with your surgeon and anesthesia provider and they can together decide if it would be better to delay your procedure.

Answer: Having surgery when ill If you are experiencing fever or chest congestion there is a chance your surgery may need to be postponed. If have mild cold symptoms (occasional sneezing, headache, etc) this normally will not preclude you from proceeding. The anesthesiologist will need to make the determination.
