My Ps had told me during my consultation that one breast was slightly larger than the other (which I hadn't ever noticed myself) but he didn't end up using two different size implants like I see a lot of the time on here. Is this normal in some cases?
Answer: Breast augmentation volume No two breasts are symmetrical. It is common for surgeons to use two different volumes to correct significant breast asymmetry to try to get the breasts as symmetric as possible. If your breasts are relatively symmetric that is likely why he didn't use two different sizes. You should adress your concerned with your PS as he knows what and why it was exactly done.

Answer: Using two different implants When you have breast asymmetry your surgeon can choose to use different size silicone implants. Personally, I have a little bit of a peculiar take on that I just don't like that. I'm much more comfortable using saline implants of the same volume at minimum that can be filled differentially. I think this ends up giving the breast a more equal look.

Answer: One breast a little bigger than the other but PS didn't use two different size implants. Is this normal in some cases? I frequently do not use different sized breast implants in patients with small amounts of asymmetry or difference in the size of the 2 breasts. This is because different sized silicone breast implants have a different base width when using silicone gel breast implants. In patients with very small differences in breast size that different base width can show up and detract from the result. If you have saline implants then differing amounts of saline can easily be placed in the same size implant.

Answer: Breast Implant Sizing with Asymmetry There are different factors to consider when choosing the best implant match in patients with breast asymmetry. I tell my patients that we'll agree on the size for one side before surgery, and then I ask for the freedom to figure out the best match for the other during surgery. I sit the patient up with sizers and visually decide at that point what size looks best in the opposite breast.Sometimes getting the volume to be equal creates other much more noticeable asymmetries. There is an art to creating the best match. A larger implant has a greater diameter, you wouldn't want the exact same volume if one implant sits much closer to the collar bone than the other. Ask your plastic surgeon why you have the same size implants in each breast. Sometimes looking at your pre-op photos can help you understand why those implants worked better, if indeed that is the case.Attached is a link to a case of a woman with breast asymmetry who had 421 cc implants placed into each breast.

Answer: Size difference It is very normal as the relative difference between the breasts becomes less as the breasts are made largerDr Corbin
