Hello and thank you for sharing. It seems this approach may have been too much for your skin. My philosophy is sometimes less is more. With your Fitzpatrick (system that classifies your skin type according to the amount of pigment in your skin) type IV, some modalities or combination of modalities may not be suitable. I would recommend you seek the advice of a board certified dermatologist and in the meantime use a gentle cleanser, SPF and OTC Curad Silver for burns. Best of luck.
Brown crusting and flaking can occur after stronger peels or peels in more sensitive areas of the face. It is important to keep the area moisturized and clean. Do not pick at the brown or crusty areas and allow them to fall off on their own. There will be new fresh skin under those areas once they fall off which may appear red or rosy. Continue to moisturize and keep your fresh skin out of the sun to avoid any pigmentation irregularities. You should return to your provider so they can evaluate and monitor your healing for appropriate advice. Hope this helps.Johnson C. Lee, MD Board-Certified Plastic SurgeonIG: @drjohnsonlee
Ow. That looks uncomfortable.Different peels have different potency, and when you combine modalities all bets are off.Seeing a medical provider to help treat the burn may be in order.Silvadene cream 2-4x daily is good for burns, but it requires a prescription.Best. Dr Brecht Seattle, Wa
