I have large pores and fine lines around my mouth and on my forehead and have read that microdermabrasion could be helpful for those problems but am not certain it’s true or that it’s the right procedure for me. I am prone to broken capillaries especially around winter time.
Answer: Clear & Brilliant can help reduce appearance of fine lines and minimize appearance of large pores. Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Will microdermabrasion help with fine lines and large pores Hello and thank you for your question. Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive procedure that uses tiny crystals or other exfoliating surfaces to help remove the superficial layer of dead skin cells. It then quickly replaces the lost skin cells with new, healthy ones. Your skin texture will be visibly smoother and treatments help with enlarged pores, discoloration, acne/acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles. A suitable skincare regimen and daily use of SPF is key. Best of luck.

Answer: Fine lines and pore reduction Excellent question. Thank you for contributing. Unfortunately microdermabrasion is unlikely to improve fine lines, large pores and broken capillaries. I would suggest an in person consultation with a board certified dermatologist who can assess your skin and devise the best minimally invasive plan moving forward. It sounds like you have a mixed skin type. For fine lines, some minimally invasive treatments include neuromodulators, injectable fillers, chemical peels and fractional lasers. The chemical peels and fractional lasers can also help with pore reduction. For broken capillaries, many patients benefit from a vascular laser which can eliminate broken capillaries when used correctly. I hope this helps. All the best.

Answer: Microdermabrasion's Are Ideal For Those Looking To Reduce Acne Scars And Sun Damage And Minimize Fine Lines & Wrinkles Hello! Thank you for your question. Microdermabrasion sounds like a great option for you, just let your provider know that you are prone to broken capillaries. This treatment uses a minimally invasive instrument to gently exfoliate the skin removing the thick, uneven layer. Microdermabrasion's are ideal for those looking to reduce acne scars and sun damage, minimize fine lines and wrinkles, tighten pores, and give your skin an overall fresher, smoother appearance. Depending on how deep your wrinkles are, Microderm might not fully treat your wrinkles like Botox and Fillers can. If they are fine lines - then yes! Microderm's are a great option to help treat your lines. To receive the best results, this procedure should be done in a series of 6 spaced 2 weeks apart.

Answer: Applications for microdermabrasion Thanks for your question. I am not sure microdermabrasion is going to be a useful treatment for you for fine lines and pores, and definitely not for broken capillaries. It is essentially a deep cleaning of the skin and is more of an adjunct or maintenance treatment for skin problems. You might want to see your board certified dermatologist for their recommendations, as they have the training to recommend the best type of treatments, including microneedling, use of topical retinoids, and vascular laser for the capillaries. Best of luck!
