Air pocket or fat build up 6 months after BBL and lipo. My doctor says it’s from my pregnancy. Should I get a revision? (photos)

I’ve read many threads on this site it can be something else. I don’t believe it’s from my having a baby 3yrs ago. My doctor recommended cool sculpting which is. $800 for 2 sessions. I Followed all instructions. I want opinions from other doctors.I honestly think he just doesn’t want to do a revision...should I consider another surgeon? Does it look like a pocket of air? Maybe fluid? It’s soft, doesn’t feel hard or anything. Just annoying the way it looks through tight clothes Please help!

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong but it is most likely remaining fat. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice.

Thank you for the photos, pending a formal evaluation, you may be a good candidate for a Revision Liposuction. You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best.

Hello,That is a contour defect composed of fat and scar tissue. Revision liposuction is the best way to smooth it. Seek out a plastic surgeon with a decade or more experience with body contouring.

That area is not a pocket of air, but could be residual fat which could be treated with more liposuction. However, you would need to be examined to be sure. If your doctor won't do the revision, find another who will. Cool sculpting does not always work.

The number one trick in the book for avoiding taking responsibility for your own work it's blaming the patient.  I can't tell you how many times and the various excuses I've heard from providers not wanting to take ownership of their own work.  Your petty umbilical fat is not from your pregnancy. Your doctor knows that.  It's from uneven liposuction and the correct treatment is not cool sculpting it's a revision liposuction.  Blaming you, your pregnancy or anything else is a cop out and an excuse to not do work that he's not being paid for.  The result is tolerable though obviously slightly less than perfect. This should be an easy fix that can be done with local anesthesia in the office.  If you consult with a new provider you will most likely be charged anywhere from $1000-$3000.  That's a reasonable fee to charge for liposuction of a single area.  Your provider should stand by his work and do the revision for free. If he takes you to the operating room then it's fairly reasonable to ask patients to pay for facility fees or the fees of anesthesiologists if used.  Like I said, I would do this in the office and I think most providers feel the same way.  Uneven fat around the belly button is probably the most common less than perfect outcome from abdominal liposuction.  When I first began doing liposuction I would have some form of this in 25% of my cases. Now it's unheard of.  Then again, I've done over 7000  liposuction and fat transfer cases so I've had a chance to fine-tune my skills.  Best, Mats HagstromDa fat man
