I have a chin that is to long for my face, help! What can I do?

I have always been very insecure of the lower half of my face, I believe it is very masculine, and my chin is way to long for my face. I have done extensive research however, chin reduction surgeries don't seem to be very common. I'm not sure if my chin is too long or my jaw is too big. I just know that the lower half of my face is not harmonious to the rest of my face. What can I do ?

A reduction genioplasty is a procedure that can be performed to reduce the height or width of the chin. It actually allows the chin to be moved in any direction or multiple directions. A CT scan would be helpful to examine the chin in 3 dimensions and measure the actual height. Any chin surgery will not require braces or change your bite.

The main dimension in which your chin is excessive is vertical and little width as well. This requires an intraoral vertical edge reduction genioplasty to both shorten it and make it more narrow.

The chin height and overall dimension is proportional to the slope of the jawline, the midface and the upper face. Certainly, after xray and clinical assessment, the chin can be reduced in any dimension. The best way to review and present it, is without smiling and 'static' when you take images.
