Would jaw surgery improve my profile? (photo)

Question

I had orthodontic work as a child and my bite is now pretty much normal, with a very minimal overjet of the top four central teeth. I asked my dentist whether Invisalign would make any improvements with my side profile and he said Invisalign wouldn’t make a significant difference. As my bite and teeth look good and I don’t have jaw pain, what other options would I have to fix my convex profile? As I have a deep mental crease I thought a chin implant may not be suitable.

A genioplasty would help to balance your profile and minimize the crease. The chin segment would be moved slightly forward and brought down, creating a stronger jawline and would lengthen the lower portion of your face. None of which would affect your bite, but would give you the results you are looking for.

You cannot augment your chin anteriorly because it is already projecting quite a bit and you already have a very sharp labiomental angle. if anything you could reduce the anterior projection while adding vertical height by sliding the tip of your chin back and down just slightly.
