Chin implant shifted? 9 day post chin implant, accidently got kicked hard. (Photo)

Question

Hi doc, i was in 9days post chin implant until my sister kicked my left jaw hard when shes asleep, so hard until it was red and swollen. Now it is still swollen and tender but no longer red. However im worried if my implant has shifted. Or if it is just swollen. My surgeon is out of town for another 2 weeks so i cannot ask him now.. With this questions, im attaching the pic. Please answer me since i am so hopeless.. Thanks doctor!

Dear memories foreverIt is difficult to tell but there is certainly asymmetry in the photographs you have shared. It is difficult to tell if the asymmetry is from swelling or an actual implant shift. You need to wait till the swelling settles. you should see your surgeon sooner than later to have it examined and discuss plan and options. Hopefully its judt swelling.

Without examining you, it is impossible to know if your chin implant was moved by the kick you received 9 days after your surgery.  I would wait a week or so for the swelling to improve and you should have a better idea.  If you are still concerned at that point, you should see your surgeon when he returns.
