I'd like to get a chin implant but am unsure if it will look natural or not with my mental crease. Can a chin implant bring that part forward as well? Could I get a implant and then after get some filler put in there? I had rhinoplasty and neck liposuction 7 months ago, but now want to improve my chin as well.
Answer: Deep Mental Crease Thank you for your pictures. Your neck and nose look very good. I would not recommend a chin implant as this might accentuate your mental crease. A genioplasty would be a better choice because it brings the soft tissue with more reliably in my opinion.

Answer: Chin implant candidate A chin implant is not designed to bring the mental crease forward. The Mental crease is directly over the tooth roots and the implant does not need to ride on the root of the teeth. Chin implants are manufactured and number of sizes and shapes, are composed of Silastic, and are usually inserted under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. the size and the shape of the implant is determined at the time of examination and consultation. A chin implant can always be removed if the patient so desires.

A chin implant will project the chin forward to better balance the lower half of your face. Your mental crease is appropriate. It should be 5mm deep...and yours is approximately 5mm. This procedure can be performed under local anesthesia.
