Would I benefit from an Italian Lip Lift? (Photo)

Question

Hello, I’m a 25 y/o female considering an Italian lip lift. I like the distance between my middle lip and nose, but my lip corners naturally curl under (super annoying). My goal is to avoid the bullhorn lip lift and to focus on just lifting the corners of my lips. I tried lip fillers in the past, and it didn’t help. Please advise.

Not an easy problem to solve! Based on these photos, you are not a candidate for lip lift. In some cases elective injection of filler may achieve good result, enlarging just lateral half of the lips; it may require some expertise that you did not have in your earlier attempts. Surgical advancement of red portion of the lip to create different shape of the lips will create scar? In person consultation with a few board certified plastic surgeons with good reputation in facial rejuvenation is recommended. Good luck.

A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. It is possible to do a lip lift with less taken out centrally or none and only the corners.

I do that particular variation often. But, for you, I suspect going on the vermilion border laterally (towards the sides) may be an even better choice.  It's an office procedure and rolls the sides up with a well camouflaged incision.
