I want to know if the length of my philtrum throws off my facial harmony. Would i look better with a shorter philtrum?

A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. You can shorten the philtrum with the understanding that the upper lip will be fuller. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

This is my expertise and a huge portion of my practice. Asymmetry is normal and expected. Buccal fat pad gives slimming not symmetry. Masseter botox will make you slimmer and make the jawline more loose. Fillers help give shaping and contouring. If you want perfect or close to perfect symmetry...

The important measurement isn't how much skin you remove, but how much you leave behind. For a subtle improvement that keeps you looking natural and masculine, I usually leave behind 15-20mm in men, but it really depends on the size of your face overall and the proportions of your other features...

Can I wear my retainer 2 days after lip lift/corner lip lift?

Thank-you for your question. I usually ask my patients to wait for 2 weeks before using a retainer, but if it is absolutely necessary, it can be started sooner . Please discuss your concerns with your surgeon as well as orthodontist who can give you their protocol and advice. All the best!
