Can my under eyes be fixed without filler? (photo)

I have had these under eyes since I was a kid- literally. Always look like I don’t sleep. They aren’t saggy or puffy. They’re kind of hollow or deeper in my face. I hate the purple color too. No matter how much sleep or makeup I apply they’re always ugly and make me look so much older. I’m 23 years old. I don’t want under eye filler. What are my options and would it actually make a good difference?

Thank you for your inquiry! By your photos, it looks like you would be a great candidate for a lower bleph procedure as that procedure will remove excess skin and fat pads to your lower eyelids. Fat transfer can also be done at the same time to reduce the hollowness. Fat transfer is more permanent whereas filler would be temporary. I recommend scheduling a consult appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon like myself so we can assess your eyes, listen to your goals, and create a surgical plan that is best for you and your goals!

From the photos it seems:

- you have very thin skin
- you may have some fat bags protruding 
- you have undereye and midface hollows

Lower blepharoplasty and fat transfer have their own issues now and in the future given your age.

So you may to keep things simple at this point, so if it’s REALLY bothering, I would first try fillers, but MAKE SURE you see an expert for this because I can’t tell you how many patients who came to me because the filler “failed” but all I had to was dissolve and re-fill.

Nanofat injections may help your skin quality and the discoloration. I’m the fat grafting course director at our annual academy course and at our UCLA course and I stress that you should do this with someone experienced.
