Hi! I am a 26yo female who has been on a long weight loss journey. over the past 10 years, Ive been 225 then 150 then 275 and now im around 170. I was wondering if the lower body lift or extended tummy tuck with lips would be best for me. Do people regret not getting the lower body lift? Ive gotten different suggestions at consultations. Thank you!
Answer: Trustworthy6672378 Thank you for your question. Prior to discussing any surgery I would recommend ensuring your weight is stable at least 6 months. If you have been stable for some time now you are likely a candidate for both. Please know that a full in person evaluation would be best. In general, the extended abdominoplasty would address your belly. If you are fine with just that then that may be all you need. A circumferential lift would tighten the outside of your thighs mostly ( it does not appear that you have oa lot of loose thig skin ) It also can add volume to the buttocks if this is of interest to you. And of course, it is always possible to do the extended followed by the lower body lift should you desire. Good luck.

Answer: Body lift Hello, there's no downside in doing one half of the body as one benefit is you can recover comfortably on the unoperated half. If you're unsure about the buttock you can always do it later. One thing to consider in whatever timing or sequence you prefer, is the shape of the buttock. If your buttock is flat on the side that will not be improved with a buttock lift and it would actually increase the flatness of the buttock when pulling all the tissues upwards. A curve can be introduced where appropriate by using your own fat. If you do an abdominoplasty and don't use the fat it's lost forever so consider taking advantage of that "yellow gold" to reshape the buttock as part of your operative plan. One way to give you the most comfortable recovery is to liposuction the abdominal wall of all its fat, transfer it to the buttock to reshape it and do the back portion of the circumferential lift. The liposuction area of the abdominal wall is uncomfortable but tolerable to lay on it. Then once recovered, you can have your abdominoplasty and rest comfortably on your back. There are even other combinations so talk in depth with your plastic surgeon about the overall plan so you don't burn any bridges. Good luck.

Answer: Tummy tuck Dear Trustworthy667278, based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Flanks liposuction would give you a better shape. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Thank you for your question! According to the information that you mentioned about losing weight and then fluctuating a little bit with your weight, when that happens, this skin becomes loose and unfortunately it doesn’t always retract completely. In most cases it doesn’t, for those cases I think what would be best for you would be a lower body lift, which is removing all the skin from the lower abdomen all the way up to your lower back, lifting your pubic area, outer thighs, and buttocks. The Extended tummy tuck with liposuction will not give you the best results being that liposuction well yes remove fatty deposits but because the condition of the skin is more so on the loose side, the skin will not retract and will give you the opposite results of what you’re looking for.
