I’m really unhappy with my breast augmentation/areola reduction. I’ve had the areola Reduced twice, but it’s not enough difference for me.. The surgeon said that they measured to the perfect size, but hate How huge they are. He said that he can’t go any smaller with an implant that is over the muscle. I had the second augmentation done due to encapsulation, and I chose to stay over the muscle. I feel like the augmentation is too small also as we only went 50cc larger. What are my options?
Answer: Unhappy with results As you have already undergone a revision I encourage you to meet with another board certified plastic surgeon near you for a consultation. Discuss your goals for surgery and listen to varying opinions. It seems more time is needed to determine the best approach to get the result you want versus more surgery too soon and end up disappointed again. You can discuss options such as implant size and placement as well as options for areola reduction.

Answer: Implants I would not suggest going any larger with your implants because they will sag and stretch your areolae over time. The areolae are the most stretchy part of your breast skin. When the breast is expanded, as with an augmentation, the areolae will expand. Your best chance to have smaller, but not small, areolae is to use permanent suture like Gortex for better holding power. Not all surgeons will use this because it carries a higher risk of needing to be removed over time.

Answer: A areola reduction should be done in order to achieve desired look. Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars. Answer: Two times augmentation and nipple complex reduction Based on your post of photos, you would need a third revision to increase the size of the implants by at least 150 cc to 250 cc. You can leave it in the same location. As for area nipple complex reductions, this can be done for a third time using a technique of a per string suture to decrease the diameter of the nipple complex. Fee eight to $10,000. Best of virtual consult with.
