Abdominal Etching Left Me With Asymmetry, Bulging, and Scarring - How Can I Improve The Results 1 Year Post Op? (Photos)
I underwent abdominal etching expecting refined, natural definition, but my initial outcome was markedly abnormal, with multiple visible defects, irregular contouring, and unnatural bulging throughout the abdomen. Despite waiting over a year for healing, the result has not improved and has instead evolved into additional issues. I now have clearly uneven abdominal lines, with asymmetry between sides, as well as new purple scarring in areas that previously had none. There is also persistent and noticeable discoloration across the flanks. Additionally, there is a visible “shelf” or ledge-like contour below the belly button that was not present before the procedure. The final result is inconsistent, unnatural, and represents a clear deterioration from my baseline appearance. Throughout this process, the surgeon’s response has been notably dismissive for example, advising me at one point not to wear compression garments despite these outcomes. The handling of my concerns has left me feeling unheard and without clear guidance. I am now seeking input from other qualified surgeons, and I welcome any professional opinions.
