Is tingling & radiating arm, bicep pain normal 6 weeks post op w no previous pain/numbness after Breast Augmentation?

Sounds as though you have some inflammation in the connective tissue as a product of the breast augmentation. Rest and anti-inflammatories are the main stay therapy. Call your surgeon in reports is problem to him.

You sound like you are doing too much for sure.  A 36 pound child is much too much to be carrying around this early after surgery.  The pain and tingling are not normal.   I would meet with your surgeon.

It sounds like you have ongoing inflammation of your nerve. Time and anti-inflammatories should help you out. Be sure to bring this to your PS. Good luck and be well.

I would assure you that this may be transient. Following breast enhancement, especially if you were banded over the top portion of your breasts with a binder can create these symptoms. Physical activity such as lifting could increase swelling placing undue pressure on the nerves of the upper arm called the brachial plexus. I would recommend rest, ice packs to the axilla, removal of any constriction. i would mention this to your plastic surgeon. Many times a muscle relaxant immediately post-op helps with muscle spasms which may come about with breast augmentation. good luck

Thanks for sharing your question.Your concern is understandable, but in my experience some patients can have a degree of tingling that lasts for several weeks.  This can be brought on by a number of factors including physical activity.  At this point in your recovery I think you should still try and avoid carrying your 36 pound child until your arm sensation becomes more normal.  I would recommend that you follow up with your surgeon to discuss some practical do's and dont's at this point in your recovery.Best Wishes
