Dental Xray Seven Weeks Post Op Breast Augmentation

Question

I have to get digital dental xrays seven weeks out from my breast augmentation and lift. Could this cause any problems? My wounds around my areola are still healing and I am afraid something might happen. Will the lead vest protect me from the radiation?

First, they cover your chest with a lead apron, second, the distance between the breasts and the X-ray delivery point is so far there is no significant radiation.

The chest and abdominal are shielded from the x-Rays and this would not have an effect on the healing of the breasts.

eatchickens, Dental x-ray will have no impact, and they usually screen you with a lead apron and thyroid shield at the time of the study. The weight of the vest may cause more of an issue but no harm.  I hope that this helps.

No, you need not worry about dental xrays causing any harm to your healing incisions. Besides this, your dentist with cover your neck and chest with a lead apron prior to performing the xrays. The radiation damage to the skin that we worry about as plastic surgeons is the six weeks of external beam radiation therapy that is used for certain patients battling breast cancer.
