How much space does 1 cc of Juvederm take up? It looks like far more than 1cc and I measured it to be 1 cm x 5 cm x 1 cm (photo)

Question

Look at the comparison between a juvederm syringe and an empty 3 cc syringe (slightly wider, but not by that much). Why is 1 cc of juvederm 5 cm long and 1 cm wide (I measured)? That's 5 cc of "space" taken up by the gel, right? I have very precise reconstructive needs after a number of bad procedures and surgeries, and I need to know exactly what "1 cc" or "1 syringe" of this filler provides in terms of volumizing. Ultra plus is the same "size" and I don't understand it.

Filler questions  No matter how you line it up one cc always equals 1 cc.  The syringe (plastic) may take up different volumes but if a company prepares one cc tha is what they are selling ,  You can spread it anyway you want but it will always equal 1 cc.  A better way to think of 1 cc is 1/ 5 of a teaspoon of volume .

The actual dimensions of 1 cc = cubic centimeter are 1 cm x 1cm x 1cm for the product. The two syringes are made differently and have different thicknesses. Only the product goes into the body. The 3 cc syringe holds three times as much even though the material makes it about the same size. Warm regards, Dr. Aldo

When you refer to "space" you're referring to volume. One cc of Juvederm is one cc of Juvederm regardless of how much of an area it's spread over. Hope this helps.

1cc is one cubic centimeter which is 1x1x1 cm. If you are measuring the syringe, you are forgetting about the thickness of the walls of the syringe. Sometimes these are slightly overfilled to 1.1cc.

It all depends on the inner gauge of the syringe. The syringe is apparently bigger to help squeezing out the material (a dense gel) and its external volume does not mean that it contains more than declared
