There is a red mark on my lip that appeared a couple years ago and has not gone away. It seems to be a broken blood vessel, yet it never changes. Is there anything I can do to get rid of it? It doesn’t hurt or anything, but it is noticeable. Thank you.

Answer: Lip Veins. This look like a small hemangioma. I would treat this with a topical laser such as the Dornier 940 Diode or with topical RF with the Ellman Surgitron..

Answer: Agree with Dr Baird I agree with Dr Baird here... It would be important to make sure this spot is, in fact, a benign vascular lesion first. For example, small skin cancers can often have prominent vasculature, so this should be ruled out first, preferably by a board certified Derm. If it is a benign vascular lesson such as a cherry angioma, spider angioma, etc, 1-2 pulses with a vascular laser (Excel V, V beam, etc) or intense pulsed light (IPL) would likely do the trick. Occasionally a light zap with electrocautery can fix this problem as well.
