Are veins like this hereditary because my toddler son has a very similar one on his forehead. How old would he have to be to remove his, I am fearful once he starts school he will be picked on. Any advice on this for both of us would be appreciated. I feel so ugly all the time and that I look like Frankenstein. I am near Lynchburg, VA but very willing to travel to fix this!

It is unusual to have a drain left in place following vein surgery so there must have been a reason to place the drain. A genereal rule of thumb for removing drains is to remove them when the drainage either stops or reduces to a minimal amount. Speak with your surgeon about the drain.
I recommend you seek a consultation with a cosmetic opthalmologist. They will be able to treat this safely and effectively most likely with laser and eye shields.
