I've had it for 20 years and didn't get it checked out at all. Recently they've been causing me issues and discomfort. My left leg has severe varicose veins and my right leg has mild varicose veins.
Answer: Choosing between different varicose vein and spider vein treatments It’s important to distinguish between varicose veins and spider veins when choosing between laser therapy, sclerotherapy, and vein surgery. With two board certified vein specialists, our center uses a combination of visual examination, functional flow measurements, ultrasound, transillumination, and infrared light to map out vein networks prior to therapy. Lasers can be used to treat deep varicose vein insufficiency, vein perforators, and varicose veins. Sclerotherapy is ideal for spider veins and reticular veins. Whereas surgery is reserved for severely incompetent varicose vein segments. Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Cost to treat varicose veins The cost to treat varicose veins varies quite a bit. The type of problem you are describing is usually covered by insurance. Your insurance plan determines how much your deductible and out of pocket costs will be for any medical service. If you don't have insurance or chose not to use it, the treatment cost depends on what types of and how many procedures you need.

Answer: Costs Vein costs vary on the area of the country and what you need done, if it is done in the hospital or in an outpatient clinic. It depends on the experience of the practitioner and how many doctors are doing it in your area. Often, vein treatments especially if you have larger veins and pain or symptoms is considered medically necessary. I would get a consultation and if you have insurance, see if your insurance covers vein treatments and see if you meet their criteria for treatment. Most insurances want to see that you have had varices with symptoms or venous insufficeincy that is documented on ultrasound with symptoms. The symptoms may be pain, swelling, aching, heaviness, bleeding veins, venous ulcers and others. The person should have tried and failed conservative measures with leg compression - compression hose 20 to 30 mm/hg or more, leg elevation and anti inflammatories.

Answer: Cost of varicose vein treatment. The cost of treating varicose can vary depending on the type of procedure, the amount of procedures necessary and the types of insurance or if there is no insurance. You would need to contact several physicians in your area and get some estimates. I doubt that you can get a true estimate for treatment without first being seen and having a venous ultrasound.
