Why is my nose is too pointy after Rhinoplasty?

Question

when i went in for my consultation, i told my doctor that i had really just wanted the tip lifted so it wouldn't droop so much anymore & in the pictures he edited for me, it looked pretty close to what i had wanted. but after the surgery, the tip of my nose seemed really pointy, the tip drooped even more & i suddenly had extremely flared nostrils. is it possible to make the tip "round" again & make my nostrils smaller/not flared? also, it's been almost two years since the surgery.

The shape often nose and especially the tip can be changed with a revision rhinoplasty.To make the nasal tip around again cartilaginous grafts will be needed typically taken from the ear.RegardsDr. J

Thank you for your question.  Without knowing more about the surgery, or seeing your pictures, it would be difficult to know exactly how to address your concerns.  If you feel the tip is too "pointy", there may be some additional maneuvers that can be done to help correct this.  I would see out a consultation with a board certified facial plastic or general plastic surgeon, who specializes in Rhinoplasty. I hope this helps,-David Gilpin

At 2 years after rhinoplasty this is your final result.  You should discuss revision rhinoplasty with your original surgeon or seek another opinion from an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon.

Without pictures it is hard to say anything definitive. It sounds like you have a pinched tip. You may need a revision with grafts for rebuilding the ala and tip
