I was a 36 H and am now a 36 DD and some time after I got my stitches out I noticed a suture under my skin but I’m all healed up & it’s still there. Also I am struggling to get rid of some keloid around the areola, any suggestions?

Answer: Breast reduction Dear Desssy, Thank you for your question. Based on the pictures your provided, you may benefit from scar revision of some of the areas. Unfortunately, pictures only tell part of the story, so I do recommend you being seen and examined by a board certified Plastic Surgeon who can advise you what would be the next best step of action. Sometimes keloids can also be treated with injection therapy or a combination of excision and injections.Best wishes, Franziska Huettner

Answer: Breast Reduction Scars Thank you for your questions and photographs. It’s possible that there is a suture underneath your skin and soft tissue, depending on the type of sutures your Plastic Surgeon used during your procedure. As far as keloid scarring, techniques of excision, steroid injection, and radiation therapy are all regimens that have been used in attempts to treat this. I recommend you follow-up with your Plastic Surgeon. He or she will be able to answer your questions and guide you with how best to proceed. I hope this is helpful, best of luck to you. Peter A.
