I think most patients are sore. It is not as uncomfortable as say a full tummy tuck or a breast augmentation under the muscle.

Patients experience pain quite differently so you should not expect that another persons experience will necessarily hold true for you. That said, however, I do find that liposuction does tend to generate discomfort that is significant during the early phase of the recovery. It is often described as a burning pain and it typically diminishes quite rapidly over a period of a week. In my experience, when patients stay overnight at the surgical facility, or another location staffed by an RN with the ability to give intravenous medications, their pain control is better.
