Thank you for your question. I suggest you consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon for a surgical approach because SculpSure and CoolSculpting are intended to be body contouring not fat loss treatments.Best wishes,
Man Boobs (gynecomastia) can be treated surgically with liposuction and excision depending on the consistency of the breast tissue. If the breast is composed primarily fat, sculpsure or coolsculpting can improve them. The best results are with surgery, but if you desire a non invasive procedure, either sculpsure or coolsculpting could be done. I personally like sculpsure better because it takes less time and no bruising occurs.
Thanks for your question! In our practice, we much prefer CoolSculpting to SculpSure as we have seen far better results. That being said, the chest isn't the best area to treat because often times, gynecomastia is a combination of fat and breast tissue. If you aren't apprehensive about going to the operating room, a true gynecomastia surgery might be your best option. Good luck!
All are good for stubborn areas of fat, but for best results for this issue, I recommend a hi definition procedure like VASER liposuction. I use VASER HI DEF with ThermRF and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, contour and definition. This combination will give you the most toned athletic-looking result. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a hi definition physique expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Sculpsure is a noninvasive 1060nm diode laser treatment that removes up to 25% of stubborn fat in the treated area in 25 minutes. It is FDA approved for the abdomen and flanks. It is safe if you get pregnant in the future. The body contouring effects are seen in as quick as six weeks with final results at 12 weeks. The results are permanent as long as you maintain your weight and health. The laser targets and destroys the fat cells only which are then naturally removed from the body. Since the laser does not affect the skin or muscle it can be used on all skin colors and there has been no reported incidents of burns when treated by a properly trained physician. It is protective since it alternates heating and cooling. It has four applicators that can be customized to treat the areas of stubborn fat. If a second treatment is needed we wait at least six weeks and usually closer to 12. If you notice lumps after (which I've never seen) I would recommend massage. You should also alert your surgeon. No compression garment required. There is no downtime and you can resume your normal activities right after the treatment. There may be some soreness in the area for a few days for which you can take ibuprofen or tylenol. A cold compress can also be used. Sculpsure is not used for skin tightening however some of our patients have seen this. If more skin tightening is needed we have combined this with thermi or Ulthera for a complete treatment. Sculpsure is recommended for stubborn areas of fat that are not being lost by diet and exercise. It is not a weight loss treatment Since I have both a coolsculpting and sculpsure I am working on protocols of utilizing both of these depending upon what areas need to be treated and the response to the treatment. I have used sculpsure on other areas other than the abdomen with very good results. I also use a Vectra 3D imaging system to try and show people what their treatment areas could look like. Since Sculpsure outcomes can be based on technique and experience, please see a board certified plastic surgeon that specializes body contouring to see if Sculpsure or other treatments are available to meet your goals. While SculpSure could be used on male breasts, I would not treat over the nipple area with that method. CoolSculpting can be used over the nipple, so I think it is a bit easier than SculpSure for the male breast.
In many cases, surgery is the best treatment for gynecomastia because there is often times not only a fatty component but also a glandular component, which can only be removed surgically. If you do have fatty tissue, and do not want surgery, I would recommend CoolSculpting. After researching all of the non-invasive fat removal devices on the market, I felt CoolSculpting was the best option to offer my patients. We have seen great results even with just one treatment.
First of all, schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to have your "man boobs" or gynecomastia assessed. If the issue is only one of fat then SculpSure is a viable non-surgical option. However, if there is tissue that needs to be excised then you would need surgery. Hope this helps and best of luck.
All 4 of the listed procedures are acceptable options for treating gynecomastia (man boobs). The appropriate procedure can only be determined after a thorough physical examination by a physician. If the tissue is majority fat then any of the procedures can be performed. If it is majority breast tissue than excision might be necessary. If there is loose skin, then skin removal might be needed with breast reshaping. Please see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who performs these procedures to assure the best possible result.
Hello. Sculpsure is a more effective and less invasive treatment. It will help you achieve your goal and the results are visible within a few weeks of having this done. There is no downtime and the treatment only takes 25 minutes per area.
