Hello jbooty8, I’m sorry for the adverse symptoms you are experiencing. Nausea, disorientation and general discomfort are temporary side effects after Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery. If your surgeon used intravenous sedation or general anesthesia to perform your BBL procedure, you may feel disoriented, groggy, or nauseated directly after your surgery. For this reason, and due to the effects of painkillers, I usually suggest my patients to arrange for a responsible adult to drive them home after BBL and to stay with them for at least the first night following surgery. The surgical process can put a strain on your body and cause general discomfort. Your plastic surgeon can prescribe painkillers and nausea medication to help reduce your discomfort. Getting plenty of rest and drinking plenty of fluids such as Pedialyte will also help you remain comfortable and shorten your recovery. Contact your surgeon promptly if you notice an increase in swelling, pain, redness, drainage, or bleeding in the surgical area, or if you develop fever (above 100.4 F), dizziness, nausea, or vomiting. With appreciation, Dr. De La Cruz.
