Answer: Chin implant candidate In our practice we have been using Silastic chin implants for approximately 25 years with an excellent success rate. Chin implants are manufactured in a large variety of sizes and shapes, and can be custom carved when necessary to fit the patient's unique anatomy.

Answer: I want to know the best implant materials for jawline and chin Hi, I have performed many chin augmentations with a chin implant for the past 30 years. I prefer using a silastic chin implant placed through a small, curved incision under the chin. I have found this approach and method of chin augmentation to be very safe, quick and highly effective. IMHO, jaw implants have too many side effects for me to use or recommend their placement for my patients. When performing mandibular angle or jaw line augmentation, I prefer using a dermal filler (Restylane Lyft) for its superior action and lack of unwanted side effects. Hope this helps.

Answer: Jaw Implant The type of material depends on what the final goal will be and where the starting point is. Do you need an implant ,is an injection possible or is a procedure on the bone the best option?

Answer: Chin implant material Typically you can choose between Silastic (popular relatively inexpensive); a type of acrylic/ plastic (Porex is a common one); Gortex-like (most biocompatible more cost) and even Coral-like (hydroxyapatite). In the chin area, they all 'work' but they do yield different appearances due to their contours, ability to shape at surgery, Density and palpability. The choice 'should ' be based upon the best balance for your face including the present shape of the chin and the amount of muscle activity present.
