How much more expensive is a custom implant? I've seen people saying it's like 20k. Does a custom implant really add 15k to the average chin augmentation? Seems insanely off to me. I would have thought maybe a grand more.

Answer: Cost for chin implant 5k for a chin implant seems a bit excessive. Do your homework and find a better price from a reputable facial plastic surgeon. There is no need for a custom implant unless you have a very unique mandible

Chin implants are composed of Silastic, and can be custom carved down to meet unique anatomical needs. Custom implants are used for patient who have severe traumatic and congenital deformities. For many examples, please see the link and the video below

Answer: Custom Chin Implant vs Stock? Hi, I have performed many chin augmentations, using chin implants, for over 30 years and the need for a custom made implant remains very, very rare. There are many sizes from which to choose and minor changes through custom implants will make no discernable aesthetic difference when everything is said and done IMHO. I have used custom facial implants for cases of previous facial trauma and the cost was several thousand dollars plus $800 or so for the 3-D facial scan and face model creation from which the custom implants are made.
