Is hyperpigmentation suppose to happen after dermapen microneedling?

Im a 25 y/o male and had dermapen session and peel 5 days ago. I have light brown skin. I was really red and inflammed after session. I have been avoiding the sun pretty well but my skin where the treatment was done is much darker and blotchy now. Is this normal and if not what can i do? I also have 2 more sessions. Should i continue?

On occasion in some patients any slight trauma to the skin can precipitate an inflammatory response in a form of a dark pigment.
Since microneedling is very good for your skin I will use a prescription bleaching cream between treatments. You need to speake to your doctor about your concern.

Answer is no, but it can. This is especially common in olive skin type (type 3 skin and above), as well as sun exposure. Your specialist who performed the procedure will know what to do 1. avoid sun 2.
