Full back lipo and tummy tuck - swelling.

Thank you for your question. It is very important to remember bruising and swelling are going to happen and it will take some time for you to see your full result. Congratulations on your recent surgery.  A tummy tuck with back liposuction can dramatically change your body shape and appearance.  The back lipo will definitely be one of the more tender areas.  
 I tell my patients that I expect surgical swelling, even from lipo to be decreased by 3 weeks.  I give a good 6-8 weeks of healing before I judge the final result.
After a tummy tuck you want to rest in a position similar to being in a lounge chair at the beach.  Waist flexed, knees bent and head of the bed elevated.  This will take pressure off of the surgical site.  
Compression after tummy tuck and liposuction is key.  A compression garment as well as an abdominal binder 24/7 for 6 weeks is important.  
Drink plenty of fluids and get up and walk as much as possible

Lymphatic massage for the back will be helpful.You can sleep on either side with knees and hips in a comfortable flexed position. Continue your follow up with your PS. Most of the swelling will go away over the first two to three months, but it can take as long as 9 months for full resolution.
