Differently shaped/uneven eyes and ptosis after vitrectomy: solution? (photos)

Hello! My left eye has always been shaped differently than my right and appeared smaller. After a detached retina surgery on the left eye 6 months ago it seems more pronounced. The upper eyelid droops more. What options do I have? Eyelid surgery? Botox about the eyebrow? Thanks so much! -Mary

You might have a slight ptosis.  This can occur commonly after any eye surgery.  But you also have a brow asymmetry which is more noticeable.  You could try some Botox to drop the higher brow, or to lift the lower brow.

Your initial photograph shows a slightly higher right eyebrow and a slight ptosis of the left upper eyelid. You could try injecting Botox into the frontalis muscle on the right side of your forehead to relax the muscle and bring the forehead down slightly better matching the left brow position. If this does not yield satisfactory results you may consider ptosis repair of the left upper eyelid. Consulting with an oculoplastic specialist would be a good first step to further explore these options.
